Kevin Faulkner - Marketing Executive Written by Kevin Faulkner - Marketing Executive 20 Jan 2021 in Best eCommerce Platform

It’s fair to say that there are a large number of eCommerce platforms available on the market. In fact, so many that it can be a minefield for businesses that are looking to begin their digital journey.

If you know precisely what your needs are, the process of comparing eCommerce platforms becomes somewhat easier, as you can ask the providers if and how their platform can meet your growth expectations.

You’ll be able to find many platforms that will more or less meet some of your needs, but only a select few will probably meet all of your needs.

So what do you do when many platforms meet all of your needs… How do you know which of them is best?

One option is to plot your digital growth trajectory and see if these eCommerce platforms will be able to meet your growth and scalability needs.

Within a year or two of implementing a new eCommerce platform, you definitely don’t want to have to start looking for a new one because there are gaps in the software and you’re struggling to scale your eCommerce operations.

With this in mind, we took some time to compare the Aphix Digital Platform head-to-head with another platform from k-eCommerce.

We’ll be comparing these platforms in terms of:

  • Specialisation
  • ERP Integration
  • Scalability
  • Features & Functionality
  • Pricing

While there is always more to be taken into consideration, we chose the above five areas to analyse as they’re some of the most important elements we think you should consider.

For that reason, we have created a comparison table that includes more than what we are covering in this article.

Aphix vs k-eCommerce comparison table

At the end of this comparison, you should have some idea of which would suit your business best based on your needs.

Without further ado, let’s get started with each provider’s specialisation.

  1. Specialisation

Aphix started out as an ERP integrated eCommerce specialist mainly for the B2B sector. Over the years we’ve expanded our expertise in the areas of ERP integrated eProcurement and Mobile Apps too. While we still heavily focus on eCommerce, we now also focus on B2C and D2C, allowing us to cater to the needs of not only B2B wholesalers but also retailers and manufacturers. With the help of the Aphix Digital Platform companies of all sizes can start selling online and offline using our ERP integrated suite of products.

k-eCommerce offers ERP integrated eCommerce and payment solutions. Similarly to Aphix, K-eCommerce offers B2B, B2C, and eCommerce but without the added value of mobile apps or purchasing products. Their integrated solutions are also meant to be used by companies of all sizes.

  2. ERP Integration

Aphix offers seamless, real-time integration with most major ERP and business management systems. All of our products integrate out of the box with SAP, Sage, and Intact. Also, as a certified partner to the above ERP providers, we ensure that our platform and products are both secure and approved by the ERP provider now and in the future. With our platform, you can streamline and automate your online commerce operations and other processes that will reduce business costs and improve your customer experience.

k-eCommerce provides bi-directional integration with some major ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and SAP Business One. K-eCommerce is a certified partner to both Microsoft and SAP, ensuring a secure and tight integration that is approved by the ERP provider. Their solutions streamline and automate key business processes such as data entry and inventory management.

  3. Scalability

Aphix designed the platform with business scalability in mind. Our platform can help businesses of all sizes to further scale as and when it’s needed. Our eCommerce product solutions come with multiple add-on features and functionality that allow your business to reach global markets. You can also add eProcurement tools and mobile apps into the mix to further extend your digital reach and create new sales channels and opportunities.

K-eCommerce also offers a certain level of scalability for businesses when it comes to their online presence. While they offer standalone B2B and B2C eCommerce as separate solutions, they can also combine the two for businesses that wish to serve in both markets. They offer additional features that companies can add to their existing eCommerce solution which will allow them to extend their global reach. However, other than their eCommerce webstore solutions, they don’t offer any additional products such as eProcurement or mobile apps like Aphix do.

  4. Features & Functionality

Aphix offers a wide range of features and functionality whether it’s for eCommerce, eProcurement or Sales Mobility. Some of those features include multi-sites, multi-currencies, multi-language, localised content, product variants, specification, attributes, quantity breaks, period discounts, multi-buy offers, quick order and fast reorder, customer self-service and more.

K-eCommerce also offers a lot of features and functionality with their eCommerce solutions that can help you attract more customers. Some of their most noted features include support for multiple languages, personalised web promotions, customisable coupons and gift cards, integrated CRM, SEO tools, product attributes/variants, one-page checkout, quick re-ordering, and more.

  5. Pricing

At Aphix, we don’t publicly disclose our tiered pricing. But you can rest assured that we offer pricing that’s both competitive and affordable for businesses of all sizes. Our subscription plans are annual contracts that can be renewed at the end of each year. The good thing about our pricing is that everything from hosting, security, ERP integration, product implementation, training, software upgrades, maintenance and support is included in your annual fee. This way, you don’t have to worry about most things other businesses have to worry about. Instead, you can focus on growing your business and sales.

K-eCommerce offers a one-year subscription and 3 monthly plans based on your yearly online sales. Their silver package comes at $399 per month or $4,788 p/a for up to $500,000 in online sales of your business. Their gold package comes at $799 per month or $9,588 p/a. And finally, their platinum plan comes at $1,199 per month or 13,188. However, based on the ERP integration that you require and other needs you may have, costs may increase as the pricing plans mentioned are sample prices for a select few ERP integrations. In their pricing plans websites, product catalogue, orders, payments, sales, marketing and web-hosting is included.

Summary

Overall, both Aphix eCommerce and k-eCommerce share a lot of common features and functionality, as well as tight ERP integration. SAP Business One is the only common ERP integration that they share.

The two eCommerce providers are quite different when it comes to other aspects such as specialisation, scalability, and pricing. While there are undoubtedly more differences that we didn’t talk about, the ones that we did are the core ones that you need to consider.

While both offer eCommerce scalability, only Aphix offers additional eCommerce solutions such as eProcurement and Mobile Apps to help you further extend the digital reach of your ERP across your business.

Finally, Aphix offers fixed pricing that’s very competitive, whereas k-eCommerce offers different pricing models based on your yearly online sales revenue. The more you make the more you pay for the k-eCommerce platform.
