Eleanor Walsh joins Aphix as New UK Head of Sales

From Start-up to Scale-up with our best ever Sales Quarter — Aphix Welcomes Eleanor Walsh as our new Head of Sales

With Aphix excelling at a rapid pace the sales and marketing team needed to expand once again. We welcomed Eleanor Walsh to the team as our UK Head of Sales in July 2019.

Eleanor catapulted Aphix into their best-ever sales quarter in Q4 of 2019 and has been keeping us on our toes ever since with fresh input and changes in the sales and marketing team, helping to firmly move Aphix from being a start-up to a scale-up in 2020.

Her passion for products, partners, growth and all things Irish meant Aphix was a natural fit for Eleanor.

After graduating from Queens University, Belfast with a BA (Hons) in Music and Psychology, Eleanor moved to Limerick, where her now-husband is from and took a job working for a Golf & Event Management business. And it was in Limerick where a love affair with Marketing began.  

Eleanor went back to study for an MA in Marketing Management at Lancaster University after moving back to the UK. After graduation, she accepted a position with the University Management School Entrepreneurship unit working as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).  Through this role Eleanor entered the world of ERP, working with Elucid, at that time a small owner-managed software company with its own ERP designed for multi-channel retail businesses. After the KTP finished Eleanor accepted a full-time role with Elucid as their marketing manager. 

During her time at Elucid, the business was acquired twice, first to K3 BTG in 2004 and again in 2007 to Sanderson Group Plc.  As part of the first acquisition, Eleanor also moved roles to become an Account Manager, bringing her closer to the customer base and working with a wide variety of customers in the multi-channel retail space. 

But missing the world of Startups and the thrill of helping a new company to grow, in 2010  Eleanor became employee number 11 at Omnica Ltd, a Dynamics AX partner who also provided add-ons for multi-channel retail and an integrated website both direct and via a partner network.  Heading up the Sales & Marketing team, this is where Eleanor really found her love of products and partners!

In early 2014 Omnica was acquired by Columbus and Eleanor changed her role to become Head of Retail Sales for the Dynamics AX business. But missing the products and partner network and once again drawn to the excitement of growth, she joined Sana Commerce, a dutch based e-commerce ISV providing an integrated Webstore for Microsoft Dynamics and later the SAP channel, as employee number 1 for the UK & Ireland in late 2014.  And here she spent almost 5 happy years growing the partner network and customer base from the ground up.

Eleanor was attracted to Aphix by the product and the possibilities of both the product and the company. Working with a true SaaS platform, which is still customisable, providing not only e-commerce but also mobile Apps and eProcurement solutions means any business can be digitised with the Aphix Digital Platform and that was a game-changer as far as Eleanor was concerned.  She also really liked the team and the fact we were an Irish company (her father was from Co. Mayo and she still has family in Ireland) was the cherry on the top. 

When Eleanor isn’t changing the game here at Aphix she can usually be found on the side of a muddy pitch watching one of her 3 sons play a game. Herself and husband Brian work as a team to juggle family life, 3 sporty boys and two careers. 

We at Aphix couldn’t be happier that she’s now become an essential part of our team too and have no doubt she will continue to drive growth for Aphix.
