Adams officially joined Aphix as Customer Support Developer in July 2019. Although he first made an appearance at Aphix as an intern in January 2019, so he has clearly made an impression!
After studying for his BSC in Computing at DKIT for four years, Adams ventured into the world of tech. Aphix was his first job in IT and the start of his undoubtedly long career.
Prior to starting with Aphix, Adams worked at various roles in the hospitality industry in bars, restaurants and hotels for many years. He even competed in many bartending competitions and has created his own signature cocktail, called The Purple Wave!
He admits to being very nervous when he first started at Aphix. He worried he wouldn’t have enough knowledge straight out of college or that he wouldn’t adjust to
working in an office environment after years in the bar trade.
He now loves the ‘vibe’ in the office as he puts it and he soon demonstrated a keen interest in the product and company and showed he had the ambition to learn and keep improving.
Initially, his role in the customer support team involved small changes and fixes for customers, but as he learned more from his team leaders and other developers, who he says was always willing to help, his knowledge and confidence grew and he is now an integral part of the support team.
When he is not enjoying working at Aphix, Adams enjoys listening to music ( he has been to over 20 festivals in Ireland and abroad), going to the gym, playing basketball and eating good food (this one’s his favourite!).
Adams says he was delighted when offered a permanent role in the company and he was happy to leave the bar trade behind. He continues to grow his knowledge and evolve with the company.
He’s a fun and caring guy with a clearly positive outlook and welcome addition to the expanding Aphix team.
